Hello Denver! May 12, 2008
Originally from the Ohio/Pennsylvania area (somewhere around Pittsburgh), I recently moved to Denver,CO via a 5 year stint in Charlotte,NC. And who am I? Why, your friendly neighborhood jewelry designer of course! My dream is to one day own my own boutique where I can sell my own work as well as the work of other talented artists.
My move to Denver has been a good one for my sanity. I have a lot more opportunities here than I had in Charlotte. (Mainly due to the attitude towards ‘art’ in general there. Everyone likes it, but treats it as a ‘hobby’, and many aren’t willing to pay more than a pittance for it.) I immediately opened an Etsy shop to sell my wares at www.artificestudios.etsy.com, and hope to make it a really popular store. As of a couple weeks ago, I now show my work in the gallery The Tennyson Space located at 3945 Tennyson Street, Denver,CO 80212. Stop by sometime and take a look!
What are my intentions for this blog? I hope to be able to show you my creative process (the good and the bad) through pictures and words. Sometimes venting, sometimes rejoicing, sometimes eating a whole box of those tiny chocolate donuts while weeping that my creative life is ruined only to change my mind a little later. Sort of like reality t.v., but actually involving real people. I suppose that the only problem is that I’m the only one here, so there’s no one left to vote off the island. Maybe I’ll vote for myself if I think it will get me a steak dinner. So stay tuned and drop me a line to let me know you were here.
